F MOTORSPORTS
In 2000, Lexus designers and engineers began work on a secret project – the development of a supercar that would rival those of long established competitors.In 2009, the world was introduced to the Lexus LFA – the most powerful and striking Lexus yet conceived. The rest is history in the making.
STARTING GRID
Nearly every aspect of the LFA was tested and refined at the historic Nürburging in Germany. In 2009 the LFA competed in the grueling Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance race, posting the fastest lap-time in its class. In 2010, a race-ready version won its class. More than victory, Lexus’ aim is to bring the emotion of motorsports to every vehicle we design – translating hard won lessons from the track into a new generation of high performance cars.

HOT LAPS
In 2014, Lexus unveiled the RC F GT3 Racing Concept - engineered from the asphalt up to carry Lexus motorsports into the future. That same year, five race-inspired RC F’s entered the GT500 class of Japan’s Super GT series, placing 1st, 2nd and 4th. In 2016, a prototype of the RC F GT3 won a VLN Endurance Championship race at the Nürburgring Nordschleife - a first for any Asian auto manufacturer.
2017 marked the official debut of the RC F GT3 in its first full year of racing in Japan and North America - including two 500+ horsepower GT3’s in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. In 2018, in partnership with 3GT Racing, RC F GT3 entries recorded two wins, three podiums, four pole positions and ran six of the quickest race laps in the GTD class during the 11-race IMSA schedule.

FRESH START
For 2019, Lexus Motorsports is partnering with the newly formed AIM Vasser Sullivan (AVS) racing team - fielding two Lexus RC F GT3 vehicles in the GTD class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. AVS is owned by AIM partners Andrew Bordin, Ian Willis and Keith Willis, and Vasser-Sullivan Racing partners Jimmy Vasser and James ‘Sulli’ Sullivan. The No. 14 Lexus entry will be piloted by Jack Hawksworth and Richard Heistand; and the No. 12 Lexus entry will be handled by Townsend Bell and Frankie Montecalvo.
In the inaugural race of the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season – the grueling Rolex 24-hour event at Daytona – AIM Vasser Sullivan (AVS) recorded top-six finishes for both Lexus RC F GT3s. The results included a 3rd place podium result of the AVS No. 12 Lexus, marking the best finish in an endurance race for the RC F GT3 since joining IMSAs’ GTD class in 2017.
